Demons, we hear are about them in Movies in school, in church and most of all that they are in Africa which is not surprising as they have a lot of witch doctors and occult practices and also South America and I'm sure you could name many more...

My first experience with a demon possessed person was in Ireland in the 80`s. It was in the back room of a church after a Sunday service. Two men were praying with a teenager for healing when all of a sudden the boy (the teen) fell to the floor and his eyes rolled up and all you could see were the whites of his eye's and his voice became like a deep growl and his body began to shake violently.

The 2 men held him down and I helped by hold his legs other people left the room in fear. I was not afraid but fascinated.

The demon tried to talk to them but they would not listen and then they anointed the boy with oil and told the demon to leave in the name of Jesus.

The demon made a lot of noise and then left with a horrific scream.

It did not like the name of Jesus at all

Then the boy relaxed and slept peacefully for a while...That was my first encounter with a demon exorcism and was not to be my last.

Over the years since I have encountered all types of demons and believe me there are many, but everyone one of them fears the name of Jesus not the person in my experience.

I'm the kind of person that has to encounter something before I believe it, just like I would to tell you to question everything I tell you. Don't take my word for it. I could just be another Irish story teller who kissed the blarney stone.

Now there are many ways that demons can be exercised and you don't always have to be in a church setting or for that mater people laying hands on you, but in every case God is involved. I will give you a personal example.

I was living in the French district of London England in 87, and at the time I was a street evangelist , that is telling people about Jesus, not preaching at them but testifying to what he had done for me, that simple! No judging not my job or anyone else's for that mater.

Any way I returned home to my basement flat after a night of sharing in leister square (next to Piccadilly Circus) it had been a wonderful night and so I ate and went to sleep.

At about 2:30 AM, I was dreaming that a person I knew was saying "OK, it's leaving "and I woke up and my body began to shake and I could hear and feel a screeching inside of me. It was like my body was fighting its self. My throat felt blocked and under pressure and the screeching increased, oddly enough I was not afraid and then like a champagne cork leaving the bottle the demon shot out of my mouth and I collapsed on the bed and the most amazing peace flooded my body and I slept wonderfully.

The next day I was on a high. I knew what had happened. In short the more I yielded to Jesus and his love and allowed him to fill me with his holy spirit and light the darkness in side me could not compete and had to leave, very simple.

How does a person become possessed with demons? Well, there are many ways. For example, what we choose as our source determines our course. If I sleep with another person, then I'm surrendering myself to that person by the act of intercourse and they to me. So what ever spiritual Junk they are carrying also becomes mine and versa, sort of like my junk marries theirs and of course it only breeds and multiplies from then on.

Now it's not just intercourse, but cults, some religious churches, etc the list is endless and I could fill a book on them.

But the cure in my experience has always been Jesus and as we continue to seek and fellowship with him he will bring us to true freedom and release and a real life full of hope. OK, that's enough for now, will write more on another Hub...
