It`s Monday Feb 14^th

Good morning today is the first day of my new goal I have set for myself. The goal is to write 3 to 5 hubs/columns per day. Yesterday as I thought about the goal that I set for myself and the fact that I had declared it on my friend “ripple makers” site I Thought Mick no more talk, put the pedal to the metal and drive.

We can all have thoughts and dreams, but until we actually start out on the road that is all they ever will be. Boy can I dream and talk about them- after all I am Irish plus “begora” I lived 5 miles from the “Blarney stone”.

For those of you that have never heard of it, it sits high atop a castle in Ireland in a town called Blarney in the province of Munster in a county called Cork, in a castle called "wait for it " Yes "Blarney castle". Well the story goes that whoever kisses the stone gets the gift of eloquence or simply put you become a BSSSEEEERRR for the rest of your natural born life. The stone used to be on the outside of the castle wall and in order to kiss it you had to lean out over the battlements with the aid of a local Irishman, Kiss said stone, then Patrick would pull you back in.

Well, as you can imagine the death toll began to rise especially on Monday mornings after the body snatcher had finished drinking the previous evening and you were not the only body that was hung over. So as in all disasters ( more likely some American tourist sued after her dearly beloved went screaming excerising his new gift of eloquence to the ground 13 floors below) they moved it inside the wall. So now, you just lean backwards into a hole that was used to pour boiling oil on unwanted salesmen, smack it with your kisser and receive a certificate for your bravery.

So, yes I kissed it many years ago, twice actually to be sure, to be sure!

But seriously folks like the man said, talk is cheap and until we decide to do!! We will never fulfill our wildest dreams. We only have one shot at life and the “Yea but`s “and “what if`s” are still going “Yea But” and “what If” in the their nice safe retirement homes and critizing the strong man that tried. They have never tasted the sweetness of victory or experianced victory in defeat, yes, victory in defeat - for the prize is that you are out there trying, getting dirty, and breaking a leg so to speak.

You and I were put on this earth equipped with wonderful talents/ gifts from a loving creator. What a shame it would be if we came to the end of our life die and meet him only to say, “Yea but… I was afraid” or “you can have them all back”. No, I want to say, “Sorry mate I used them all up” and by the way thanks for equipping me with all I needed and beyond.

Bottom line is we all own our own crap and the sooner we all dump it where it belongs the sooner we can scale the castle wall, rescue the damsel in distress, kiss the bloody stone and get on with it…

Ok, that is my ten cents worth and first thoughts that ran through my head this fine Monday morning.
