THE UNITED STATES OF EVERYTHING MADE IN CHINA!
Ok, I have a new game for everyone , go on a scavenger hunt to your local Ikea, Home Depot, Fred Meyer, World Market ,or any store and try to buy 10 things not made in china.
Everything I pick up these Days is made in china even “VOLVO” my favorite car is now made in China I nearly cried when China bought them out. Now when your “VOLVO” crashes’ it will be “Hey, look Ma that car was smashed to smithereens” and Ma replies “don’t bother calling 911 that guy is part of the Biosphere son”
Even our National debt is from china, why in the world would China want to invade the world, they already own it. If they start selling us our” WMD`s” we will most defiantly blow ourselves up and be the butt of comedians jokes…
I had an interesting experience a couple of weeks ago , I was using my hammer to pound some object, can’t remember what, but it totally shattered, on the handle that remained was Yes “MADE IN CHINA” and it was not a cheap hammer.
I remember when cheap stuff was made in Japan, not anymore Lexus is practically leading the market. It took Japan a few years, but they caught on.
I hope China catches on soon that it is not about quantity but quality.
The main reason I truly believe China has such bad quality products is Communism. When a Human being is told what to think / do by his government and is never given any incentive to be creative, their moral will always be in the basement along with everything they produce.
It’s the same thing that happens when you go to a restaurant that looks good on the outside and yet when your order from the menu from the disgruntled waiter who then gives said order to The passionless Chef you get bland passionless food and Rolaids from the bowl by the cashier on the way out.
Are the Chinese bad People, (the country is well worth a visit its beautiful )No just their Government? It sure would be nice if the “we have had enough already fever that is spreading rapidly though the Middle East would infect the Chinese people.
We all know what happened the last time, but somehow this time I think it would be different. Then we would begin to see some cool products coming out of there.
Sort of like what is happening in India right now. India produces top quality products at very reasonable prices, just go to “world market”, and look at the quality of the furniture, especially the Tables and dining sets.
Why is this , well I believe India is were America was 40 years ago and fast becoming a manufacturing Empire of great products, everything from cars, motorcycles, and home products.
They have high education standards and that translates into high a quality work ethic. Way to go India… and God set the chinese people free ..

Just finding this great hub now. Mike, I think "no junk in, no junk out" should be the American policy. Don't buy anything from out of the country and put the pride back in "Made in the USA." It's wayyyyy overdue! The hardest part about just buying American is trying to find things actually Made in America! Voted up and interesting!
So true!
Wow, so much to contemplate / add. I think number 1 to best avoid "China made" don't shop at WalMart or any dollar store, many products (like craftsman listed above) have really sold themselves out for cheaper production. Remember, Craftsman is a lifetime free replacement, they used to do that because the stuff was so good, now it works cause the stuffs so cheap (ta make).
It still amazes me that this crap, er um, I mean stuff, can ship halfway around the world and still be cheaper, but thats .60 cents an hour vs $20. or more an hour. i'm a big proponent these days of what can I live without, so eliminating China from my shopping has been pretty easy. Sadly, many little american flags are... made in China as are many Holy Bibles nowadays, is that freaking amazing? Christianity is / was banned in China (last I knew still was) and yet, they are producing / distributing the largest number of Bibles, in the world - then missionairies buy them (here in America) and try to sneak them in to China... kinda funny in a sick sad way.
I was not aware of food from China, and it's not even Chinese food, it's good old American fare. These are some crazy times we live in heh? Your right about not asking or waiting on the Gov't to "change it", but there is another sad staement of American affairs, people look to the Gov't for everything. Just don't buy from China -it takes a little more time till you get used to it, but then it's pretty smooth.
Great article, thanx! OH, BTW, China does have the ability to make REALLY GOOD stuff, they will manufacture to spec(s) given - well, they DO manufacture to specs given.... so.... it's the "American companies" who use them to produce the stuff that really need to be "punsihed"
Thanks for the article. I remember a few years ago Craftsmen tools were made in China. Wrenches were snapping off in my hands. After closer inspection I read the made in China and couldn't get over it.
We need to go back to what made us a proud strong country. We need to build things and we need to build things with care and integrity. China, in my view, is an absolute disgrace. They have no regard for the health and safety of their own citizens nor ours.

Yes its hard to even walk down the street with out bumping into a Chineese product anymore...If it was all good quality I would say fair play ..well done ...but sadly not...and what does it say about the importers...yes its all about profit!!!!
